LocalVet Urgent Care is growing, and we're looking for an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our privately owned, veterinarian-led urgent care team! What You'll Do As a Senior Veterinary Technician, you'll play an essential role in patient care by: Triage urgent care patients and obtain accurate patient histories and vital signs Perform venipuncture and place intravenous catheters with confidence Collect laboratory samples and perform in-house diagnostic testing Monitor sedated and anesthetized patients before, during, and after procedures Obtain high-quality digital radiographs using proper positioning and safety techniques Calculate medication dosages accurately and administer medications through appropriate routes Maintain accurate medical records, including controlled drug documentation Recognize normal and abnormal patient parameters, including heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation Assist veterinarians with medical treatments, procedures, and emergency cases Educate and communicate compassionately with clients during stressful situations Help mentor less experienced team members and foster a positive, collaborative culture Maintain a clean, organized, and safe hospital environment We're Looking For Someone Who Has Minimum of 2 years of veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience (urgent care or emergency experience is a plus!)
