Responsibilities Assist with animal restraint during examinations, treatments, and procedures to ensure safety for both animals and staff Administer medications accurately following veterinary instructions and aseptic techniques Support animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, bathing, grooming, and cleaning kennels or cages to maintain a clean and healthy environment Handle pet care duties including feeding, walking, and monitoring behavior to promote well-being Prepare animals for surgery or diagnostic procedures by collecting samples, setting up equipment, and maintaining sterile conditions Support laboratory work by collecting samples, processing tests, and recording results with attention to detail Assist with animal physiology assessments and basic animal anatomy observations to aid in diagnosis and treatment plans ​ Maintain knowledge of veterinary terminology and clinic protocols to ensure smooth daily operations Experience Prior kennel experience or animal handling background preferred but not required; enthusiasm for working with animals is essential Experience in veterinary clinics or animal hospitals is highly valued; familiarity with veterinary assistant duties is a plus Knowledge of animal restraint techniques, medication administration, and aseptic procedures is desirable Hands-on experience with pet care routines including dog handling and general animal husbandry enhances your candidacy Laboratory experience involving sample collection or diagnostic testing supports effective clinical assistance Strong understanding of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and anatomy helps in performing technical tasks accurately Embark on a rewarding journey supporting the health and happiness of animals while developing essential skills in veterinary medicine.
