Job Description

Veterinary Assistant Muddy Creek Animal Hospital |
West River, MD Pay:
$17-20/hour, depending on experience There's a reason people in West River have trusted Muddy Creek Animal Hospital with their pets for so many years. Look through the reviews and you'll see the same themes come up again and again: compassionate care, knowledgeable doctors, friendly staff, and a team that genuinely goes the extra mile for their patients. That's the kind of environment we're looking to build on. We're looking for a Veterinary Assistant to join the team at Muddy Creek Animal Hospital. This is a great opportunity for someone who already has some experience in veterinary medicine and is ready to become an important part of a busy, established practice. We'd ideally like to find someone with veterinary experience under their belt, but we're absolutely open to someone with minimal experience who is motivated, dependable, and ready to learn. Maybe you've worked as a veterinary assistant before. Maybe you've spent some time in a hospital setting and want to take the next step. Or maybe you're newer to the field but know that veterinary medicine is where you want to be. We can teach skills; we're much more interested in finding someone who brings the right attitude, work ethic, and compassion for both patients and their people. As a Veterinary Assistant, you'll work closely with our veterinarians and technicians and play a hands-on role in keeping the hospital running smoothly. You'll help with patient handling and restraint, appointments, treatments, laboratory work, preparing and cleaning treatment areas, stocking, and all the other little pieces that go into a successful day in veterinary medicine. And yes, there will be cleaning. There will be laundry. There will probably be at least one moment when you wonder how something that small managed to make that much mess. That's veterinary medicine. But there's also the good stuff: helping a nervous patient feel comfortable, watching a sick pet start to feel better, learning something new from an experienced teammate, and knowing that the work you're doing genuinely matters. Muddy Creek has built a reputation for taking excellent care of its patients, and we want our team members to feel that same sense of support and respect. We're looking for someone who is willing to jump in, communicate well, work collaboratively, and treat every patient like they matter — because they do. What we offer Employee pet care discount 401(k) Company-sponsored Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Referral bonus PTO for full-time employees Medical, dental, vision insurance (full time) If you're looking for a veterinary team where you can put your experience to work, continue building your skills, and be part of a hospital that has earned a loyal following in the community, Muddy Creek Animal Hospital might be your next stop.
