Douglas Animal Hospital | Osseo, MN | Part-Time or Full-Time Do you love animals, enjoy a little chaos, and somehow find it rewarding when a dog pees on your shoe? We might be your people. Douglas Animal Hospital is an independently owned dog, cat, and exotic animal hospital looking for a part-time or full-time Veterinary Assistant to join our team.

Your coworkers may include:

Dogs who believe every visit is a social event Cats plotting your demise from inside their carriers Rabbits who are surprisingly good at holding grudges Birds who WILL repeat things they shouldn't Reptiles who have no idea why everyone is so stressed And some pretty great humans, too. What you'll actually do: Assist our veterinarians and technicians Restrain and handle patients safely and compassionately Help with appointments and treatments Assist with surgery and dentistry Care for hospitalized patients Clean, stock, and keep things moving Learn a ridiculous amount about veterinary medicine Occasionally ask, "What IS that?" when an exotic patient arrives Must be able to lift 50 pounds independently We're looking for someone who is dependable, hardworking, kind, willing to learn, and able to laugh when the day gets a little crazy. You should also be comfortable with the less glamorous parts of veterinary medicine. There will be poop. There will be pee. There will occasionally be something we all agree not to identify.
