Job Description
Relief Veterinary Technician / Experienced Veterinary Assistant - Surgical Support Synergy Veterinary Specialists is looking to connect with experienced veterinary technicians and veterinary assistants who may be available for occasional relief, temporary, or per-diem surgical support . Synergy provides a boutique, comprehensive surgical service for a select group of partner veterinary hospitals. Our care extends from the initial consultation through surgery, postoperative care, client communication, and final recheck. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys surgery, values high-quality patient care, and is interested in flexible weekday work without committing to a regular weekly schedule. Depending on experience, responsibilities may include: Patient handling and surgical preparation Surgical setup and assisting Scrub assisting Instrument care, pack preparation, sterilization, and sterility assurance Postoperative care Helping keep the surgical day organized and efficient Communication with veterinary hospital teams and clients as needed We're especially interested in individuals who are: Experienced in veterinary medicine, ideally with surgical or anesthesia experience Reliable, organized, and adaptable Comfortable working in different veterinary hospitals Efficient while maintaining a high standard of patient care Able to take initiative and anticipate what needs to happen next Professional, collaborative, and easy to work with Schedule Occasional or regular weekday shifts Primarily Monday-Thursday Hours vary based on surgical schedule No weekends No on-call responsibilities Compensation Compensation is based on experience, skill level, and the responsibilities of the shift. Relief work may also provide an opportunity to become more involved with Synergy over time if there is mutual interest and a good fit.
