Bedrock Veterinary Specialists Cornelius is seeking a Surgical Scrub Assistant to support our specialty veterinary surgical team. In this role, you will prepare operating rooms, maintain aseptic technique, and ensure all instruments, equipment, and supplies are ready for advanced canine and feline procedures. You'll assist veterinarians and technicians during surgery with patient positioning, instrument handling, and sterile field maintenance. Additional duties include cleaning and sterilizing instruments, stocking surgical areas, accurate recordkeeping, and collaborating closely with our team to provide safe, efficient, and compassionate patient and client care in a learning-focused environment. Responsibilities Prepare and maintain sterile operating rooms for veterinary surgeries Set up, organize, and manage surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies Assist veterinarians and technicians during surgery with instrument handling and patient positioning Maintain aseptic technique and protect the sterile field at all times Clean, disinfect, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment after procedures Restock and organize surgical suites, supply areas, and sterile storage Assist with patient prep, including clipping, scrubbing, and basic monitoring as directed Accurately document surgical-related information and follow hospital protocols Collaborate with the surgical and nursing teams to ensure efficient case flow Support a safe, compassionate environment for patients, clients, and team members Required Skills Surgical instrument handling Aseptic technique Sterilization and disinfection procedures Operating room preparation Patient restraint and handling (dogs and cats) Basic anesthesia and monitoring awareness Medical terminology (veterinary) Inventory and supply management Recordkeeping and documentation Team communication in clinical settings
