Requirements:
Minimum 3 years of hands-on clinical experience Strong competency in anesthesia monitoring, surgical support, and patient care Confident client communication and education skills Ability to work with both small animals and exotic species Flexible schedule, including Monday through Friday and approximately every other weekend Ability to lift at least 60 lbs Key Responsibilities Provide efficient, professional, and compassionate client interactions Safely restrain and handle small animal and exotic patients Assist in surgery, including IV catheter placement, intubation, anesthesia monitoring, and recovery Recognize and respond appropriately to anesthetic or medical complications Collect diagnostic samples (venipuncture, cystocentesis) Perform in-house laboratory testing (cytology, fecal analysis, urinalysis, blood smears, heartworm testing, etc.) Take and process dental and full-body radiographs Perform dental prophylaxis and charting Assist with avian handling and routine trims (wings, beak, nails) Accurately dispense medications and provide clear client education Proactively monitor and care for hospitalized patients Maintain a clean, organized, and functional hospital environment Position Details Full-time preferred Part-time considered for highly qualified candidates Background check and drug screen required Benefits Uniform allowance Continuing education allowance Employee discount on services Compensation $18 to $25/hour typical range; higher for exceptional candidates Compensation is based on experience, skill level, and ability to work independently.
