Job Description

VCA Capital Area Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Animal Hospital is seeking a Technician Assistant to support our Emergency & Critical Care (ECC) team. This role is ideal for someone who is dependable, compassionate, and eager to learn in a fast‑paced emergency environment. What You'll Do Assist technicians and doctors with patient restraint, treatments, procedures, and hospitalized patient care Walk stable patients and report changes to the medical team Clean and disinfect cages, treatment areas, and procedure spaces Stock supplies, maintain laundry flow, and support overall department organization Assist with radiographs, lab testing, surgical prep, and clean‑up once trained Follow hospital safety, sanitation, and infection control protocols What We're Looking For High school diploma or equivalent; must be at least 18 years old Strong communication skills and a professional, team‑focused attitude Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment Reliable attendance and dependable transportation Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays on a rotating schedule Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and remain active throughout long shifts

Full time, weekends

is a leading 24 hour specialty and emergency hospital offering hands‑on experience in emergency medicine, strong team support, and opportunities for growth within the veterinary field. The pay range for this position is $18.00
  • $20.
