Job Overview As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting veterinarians and technicians in providing high-quality care to our patients at Riverbend Veterinary Clinic. This position involves a variety of tasks that ensure the well-being of pets and the smooth operation of the veterinary clinic. You will work closely with animals, their owners, and the staff to deliver compassionate care. Duties Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including kennels and treatment areas. Provide animal restraint during examinations , diagnostics, and treatments. Administer medications as directed by the veterinarian. Perform basic laboratory tests and assist with sample collection and radiographs. Maintain accurate records of patient information and treatments. Discharging patients including review of medications, treatments, ensuring a smooth process. Skills Prior veterinary assistant or clinic experience (preferred) Animal care and restraint knowledge Familiarity with aseptic techniques Ability to work in a fast paced environment Timely and well organized This position is ideal for individuals passionate about animal care who are eager to work with a dedicated team to provide care to pets and their owners in a busy general practice.
