About Us:
At Princeton Animal Hospital and Carnegie Cat Clinic, we are a compassionate, AAHA-accredited veterinary hospital dedicated to providing the highest level of care to our patients while fostering a supportive and collaborative environment for our team members. As a large general practice, we perform a wide variety of surgical procedures and are committed to ensuring every patient and client has an exceptional experience from scheduling through recovery. We are seeking an organized, compassionate, and detail-oriented Surgical Assistant (Administrative) to join our team. Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and schedule surgical and dental procedures while ensuring appropriate appointment timing and case flow. Communicate with clients regarding surgical appointments, pre-operative instructions, estimates, and post-operative follow-up. Review medical records to ensure patients meet surgical requirements and notify the medical team of any concerns. Prepare and organize surgical paperwork, consent forms, treatment plans, and discharge instructions. Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all surgical documentation is complete. Coordinate with veterinarians, technicians, and client service representatives to facilitate efficient surgical scheduling. Assist in confirming appointments and managing changes to the surgery schedule as needed. Support inventory management by monitoring surgical supplies and communicating ordering needs. Help ensure a seamless and positive experience for clients throughout their pet's surgical visit.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a veterinary hospital is preferred, especially in surgery coordination, client service, or medical administration. Strong organizational and multitasking skills with exceptional attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a compassionate and professional demeanor. Ability to remain calm and organized in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Comfortable discussing treatment plans, estimates, and patient care with clients. Proficient with veterinary practice management software and general computer applications (preferred). Passion for animal welfare and a commitment to providing exceptional client service.
