We are seeking an additional team member for a part-time Veterinary Assistant position within our hospital.

The chosen candidate must be able to lift 40lb and take pride in maintaining a clean and well organized hospital environment. Assistants are expected to interact with a variety of clients with tact and diplomacy and therefore must be friendly and compassionate. This is a part-time position, so our ideal candidate should be able to work between 12-28 hours a week. The availability to work 2 Saturday's a month is required.

Job Duties:

As a Veterinary Assistant, you'll play an important role in supporting our veterinarians and veterinary team while helping us provide excellent care to our patients and a positive experience for their owners. Your day will include hands-on animal care, assisting with appointments and procedures, keeping the hospital clean and organized, and helping wherever needed to keep things running smoothly. We understand that for many, starting out as a Veterinary Assistant can often be the start of pursuing a career in Veterinary Medicine and therefore we are happy to provide on-the-job training for someone who is eager to learn, works hard, and genuinely cares about animals. What you will do in the role: Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, and procedures, including safely restraining patients. Keep the hospital clean, organized, and ready for patients and clients, including maintaining outside areas when needed. Communicate professionally and compassionately with pet owners Observe patients for changes in behavior or health and promptly communicate any concerns to the veterinary team. Assist with front desk responsibilities when needed, including greeting clients, answering phones, and maintaining records. Cleaning and preparation of surgical instruments and surgical packs What We're Looking For Previous veterinary experience or knowledge of basic veterinary practices is preferred, but not required if you are eager to learn and have a strong work ethic. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with both clients and coworkers. A willingness to learn, take direction, and develop new skills. A genuine commitment to providing compassionate, high-quality care to animals. The ability to stay organized, attentive, and productive in a busy, fast-paced environment. A team-oriented attitude and willingness to jump in where needed.

Job Requirements:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required, AAS or higher preferred
• Some lifting is required (must be able to lift 40lb)
