Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist

Overview We are a non-profit high volume high quality Spay and Neuter clinic seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist and Assistant to join our team. This role is pivotal in providing exceptional customer service while ensuring the smooth operation of our veterinary practice. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for animal care, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. As the first point of contact for pet owners, you will play a crucial role in creating a welcoming atmosphere for both clients and their beloved pets. Responsibilities Greet clients and their pets upon arrival, ensuring a friendly and professional atmosphere. Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries regarding services, medications, and pet care. Maintain accurate patient records and update information in the clinic's database. Process payments and handle billing inquiries with attention to detail. Assist veterinary staff with handling patients as well as patient recovery post operatively. Provide information on pet health care services, including vaccination schedules and preventive care. Ensure cleanliness and organization of the reception area and waiting room. Experience Candidates with experience in veterinary settings are preferred. The following skills are highly valued: Familiarity with veterinary terminology and procedures. Experience as a Veterinary Receptionist or Veterinary Assistant is advantageous. Knowledge of medication administration and animal physiology. Understanding of veterinary care practices. Previous experience working in a kennel or animal care facility is beneficial.
