LVT Surgery

Job Description

Seeking an experienced Surgery LVT for a growing specialty surgery department. Responsibilities & Duties Assist veterinarians during surgical procedures. Prepare animals for surgery by shaving and disinfecting surgical sites. Monitor anesthesia and vital signs during surgery. Maintain sterile surgical instruments and environments. Provide post-operative care and monitor recovery of surgical patients. Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian. Educate pet owners about post-surgical care and recovery. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation. Sterilize and organize surgical equipment and instruments. Assist in the development and implementation of surgical protocols. Ensure compliance with veterinary regulations and standards. Qualifications & Skills Experience in a veterinary surgical setting. Certification as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, LVT). Proficiency in surgical instrument handling and care. Strong understanding of anesthesia monitoring and administration. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work efficiently in a high-stress environment. Familiarity with veterinary electronic medical records (EMR) systems. Advanced training or coursework in veterinary surgery. Completion of an accredited Veterinary Technician program. State licensure as a Veterinary Technician (if required). Basic knowledge of surgical techniques and protocols. Ability to lift and handle animals of various sizes. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Compassion for animals and dedication to their well-being. Basic CPR and first aid certification for animals. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. On-call responsibilities.
Pay:
$30.00 - $40.00 per hour Expected hours: 12.0 - 40.0 per week
