Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our compassionate and hard working team. Minimum 2 years veterinary assistant experience is required. We are a privately owned, expanding companion animal practice located in Lindenhurst. We believe that a pet is a member of the family and should receive outstanding healthcare in a gentle, caring environment. We are looking for a personable and professional individual to join us in our mission. This person should be organized, detail oriented, have excellent communication skills and be a team player. You'll play an important role in bringing comfort to our patients and ensuring the smooth running of our practice. Responsibilities Obtain thorough patient history and TPR/scribe for Doctor Clean examination tables and rooms after each appt Restrain animals during examinations or vaccinations Fill medication prescribed by Veterinarian Help in cases of emergencies Keep accurate records and logs Help maintain a clean and neat work environment Skills Proven experience as a Veterinary Assistant for two years or more Excellent communication skills Patient and caring personality Ability to follow instructions properly and work as a team Comfortable being around animals of all sizes Ability to meet the physical demands of the job Availability to occasionally work in emergencies
