This role provides essential support in patient care, clinic operations, and client communication. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in animal handling, veterinary terminology, and clinical procedures, contributing to the well-being of our animal patients and supporting our veterinary staff. Experience with kennel management, animal husbandry, and laboratory procedures is highly valued. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment committed to pet health and owner education. Duties Assist with animal restraint during examinations, treatments, and procedures Administer medications and injections following veterinary instructions Support veterinary technicians and veterinarians in clinical tasks such as catheterization, sample collection, and laboratory testing Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of treatment areas, kennels, and surgical suites using aseptic techniques Provide pet care including feeding, bathing, and monitoring during hospital stays Handle front desk responsibilities such as appointment scheduling, client communication, and record keeping Assist with animal husbandry tasks including feeding, cleaning enclosures, and monitoring animal health status Support with pet transport within the clinic for diagnostics or procedures Maintain detailed knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and clinical protocols Contribute to client education on pet care, vaccination schedules, and post-operative instructions Experience Previous kennel experience or animal handling background preferred Veterinary technician or assistant experience highly desirable Experience with veterinary critical care or emergency procedures is a plus Familiarity with front desk operations within a veterinary setting is beneficial Knowledge of laboratory techniques related to veterinary diagnostics Experience working with a variety of animals including dogs, cats, equines, and exotic pets is advantageous Strong understanding of animal restraint techniques and medication administration protocols Prior experience in a veterinary clinic or hospital environment is preferred but not required; training will be provided for qualified candidates with relevant animal care backgrounds This position requires a compassionate attitude towards animals and clients, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team dedicated to providing exceptional pet healthcare.
