Job Description

Belvoir Pet Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Technician Assistant to join our team! This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career in veterinary medicine. While previous veterinary experience is not required, candidates with animal handling, kennel, boarding, daycare, or other animal care experience are encouraged to apply. We're looking for someone who is dependable, eager to learn, enjoys working with animals, and thrives in a fast-paced team environment.
Responsibilities include:
Assisting with safe patient restraint for examinations, treatments, and procedures Supporting outpatient treatments and patient care under the direction of veterinarians and technicians Cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining treatment, exam, and kennel areas Restocking supplies and helping maintain hospital organization Monitoring patient comfort and reporting concerns to the veterinary team Supporting efficient daily hospital operations and patient flow Providing compassionate care to patients and excellent service to clients Schedule and compensation:
Compensation:
$15 - $17 per hour, for each hour worked This is a full-time, flexible position with availability needed Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday . Flexibility within these days is available based on hospital needs. Full-time Benefits Package•: Bonus package: Up to $500 depending on experience Health package: Medical, dental, and vision insurance Life insurance and disability Employee Assistance Program 401k with company match Paid time off in accordance with site policy and applicable law Personal pet discount Part-time team members may be eligible for limited benefits in accordance with company policy and state law Minimum qualifications and skill set: 1+ years of experience working with animals in a kennel, dog daycare, boarding facility, shelter, grooming salon, or veterinary setting is preferred but not required.
Proficiency in the following skills:
Comfortable handling dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperaments Strong willingness to learn veterinary skills and procedures Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset Attention to detail and ability to follow established protocols Physical ability to stand, bend, lift, and safely assist with patient restraint throughout the workday About us: Belvoir Pet Hospital is a busy, 5-doctor practice offering the highest quality of medicine small animals in our community.
