Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Assistant/ Technician, where your passion for animal care and technical expertise will make a meaningful difference in the lives of pets and their owners. You will support veterinarians and veterinary technicians by performing essential clinical tasks, assisting with animal handling, and ensuring the highest standards of pet care. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help create a welcoming atmosphere for our furry patients and their families. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with clinical procedures Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques for examinations, treatments, and X-ray procedures. Prepare animals for surgery or diagnostic tests Maintain accurate records of animal treatments, laboratory results, and medical histories using veterinary terminology and record-keeping systems. Support laboratory work by conducting basic diagnostic tests. Ensure aseptic technique during procedures to prevent infection and promote animal health. Assist with dental procedures by understanding dental terminology and supporting cleaning or polishing efforts. Operate imaging equipment such as X-ray machines while adhering to safety protocols. Skills Proven kennel experience with the ability to manage multiple animals comfortably. Strong understanding of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and pet care best practices. Experience with dog handling techniques and dog training fundamentals for effective restraint and safety. Knowledge of animal husbandry practices. Familiarity with veterinary critical care procedures and laboratory testing methods. Ability to interpret veterinary terminology accurately for documentation and communication purposes. Excellent animal handling skills combined with compassionate pet care to ensure positive experiences for animals and owners alike.
