We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing care and support to our animal patients and their owners. - Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians in providing medical care to animals
- Handle and restrain animals during examinations, treatments, and procedures
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian
- Monitor vital signs of animals and report any abnormalities to the veterinarian
- Prepare examination rooms and surgical suites for procedures
- Clean and sterilize equipment and instruments
- Perform basic laboratory tests such as blood work and urinalysis
- Assist with radiographs and other diagnostic imaging procedures
- Provide post-operative care to animals recovering from surgery
- Maintain accurate records of patient treatments and procedures
Requirements:
- Previous experience is required
- Knowledge of veterinary assistant duties and responsibilities
- Familiarity with veterinary terminology
- Ability to handle animals with care and compassion
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
- Must have reliable transportationA candidate that has been cross-trained as a CSR will have an advantage in obtaining a spot on our team!
