Veterinary Assistant:

At Banks Veterinary Service , we pride ourselves on a proud multi-generational legacy of providing trusted care to companion pets, farm animals, and livestock. We are looking for an experienced Veterinary Assistant with at least 1-2 years working in a veterinary hospital, who wants to roll up their sleeves, support our veterinarians, and provide high-quality, hands-on patient care in a collaborative environment. In this role, you aren't just a pair of extra hands; you are a vital member of our clinical team, helping our doctors provide comprehensive, guilt-free care for everything from house pets to farm livestock. What You'll Do as
Our Veterinary Assistant:
The Doctor's Right Hand:
Provide skilled assistance to our veterinarians during exams, procedures, and treatments.
Patient Care:
Handle and restrain patients with care and confidence, ensuring the safety and comfort of our animal patients—both big and small.
Clinical Support:
Assist with sample collection, run diagnostic tests, and administering medications, keeping our workflow efficient and our patients stable.
Medical Liaison:
Help our team maintain precise medical records and translate clinical plans into actionable care for our clients.
Team Player:
Work proactively with our DVMs and support staff to keep the hospital running smoothly, whether in the clinic or out on the farm.
Who You Are:
Experienced:
You have 1-2+ years of experience working in a veterinary hospital. You know the flow of a clinic and feel comfortable in a fast-paced environment. Farm call experience is nice but not required.
Reliable & Proactive:
You show up on-time, take ownership of your tasks, stay two steps ahead of the doctor, and prioritize patient well-being above all else.
Adaptable:
You are comfortable working with and learning about animals of all species, shapes and sizes. Professional yet
Approachable:
You value open communication, integrity, and being a genuine, supportive teammate.
Growth-Minded:
You appreciate a practice that embraces modern technology and advanced medicine to provide the best care possible. You know what you don't know, ask questions, and have a passion for always learning more.
Compensation & Benefits:
Pay:
$23.00 - $25.00 per hour (possibly more with extensive experience).
