Job Description

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Assistant/Customer Service Representative to join our team. As a Veterinary Assistant and Customer Service Representative, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our animal patients. Previous experience for this position is strongly preferred.
Primary Duties include:
  • Answer and manage phone calls from clients with highest level of customer service (making appointments, medication refills, taking thorough messages for hospital management and doctors when necessary)
  • Greet client and patient warmly upon arrival to the hospital
  • Communicate their arrival to clinical staff
  • Perform animal restraint during examinations and procedures
  • Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
  • Collect and prepare samples for laboratory testing, such as blood, urine, or fecal samples
  • Position animals for X-rays as needed
  • Clean and stock exam rooms as necessary, clean and organize lab and treatment areas
  • Educate pet owners on proper animal care and medication administration
  • Maintain accurate records of patient treatments and procedures
Experience:
To be successful in this role, you should have the following characteristics:
  • Strong work ethic and ability to self motivate and learn
  • A compassionate personality and willingness to engage with animals and their owners
  • Previous experience working as a Veterinary Assistant and/or Customer service representative
  • Knowledge in animal care techniques, including animal restraint and husbandry
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in Veterinary Technology preferred
  • Certification or licensure as a Veterinary Technician is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with pet owners and team members
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
