We are looking for a veterinary technician or assistant to join our team! This is a full-time position with a benefits package that includes health insurance and discounted veterinary care for the furry members of your family. The position available is a nine hour shift from 9am to 6pm five days a week that includes a one hour lunch, and one Saturday (7:30am to 12pm) a month. We are not offering part-time positions at this time. Starting pay is commensurate with experience. Located in the rapidly growing and family-friendly lakeside community of Chapin, our clinic is a busy small animal (cats and dogs only) veterinary practice that highly values our relationships with both clients and staff members. We currently have two full-time veterinarians on staff and several relief vets. Because we are privately owned, we are able to offer a very supportive and team-driven environment that promotes a healthy work-life balance, and to that end we ensure that every full-time employee gets a one hour lunch break every day. You will work the same consistent 8/9 hour schedule that you're hired for every day without surprises! All we ask is that you bring a good work ethic that includes being reliable and punctual, a positive outlook and a willingness to work efficiently as a team. And of course, a love of animals is a must! Applicants should have previous experience in the veterinary field as an assistant or technician, and at least a basic skillset that includes animal restraint, assisting in appointments, and venipuncture. We look forward to hearing from you! Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures, including anesthesia administration, IV access, and sample collection for laboratory testing. Restrain and handle animals safely, position patients, and monitor vital signs throughout procedures. Prepare and maintain treatment areas, instruments, and equipment; perform basic dental and routine imaging tasks as needed. Administer medications, assist with laboratory work, and care for hospitalized patients. Communicate clearly with team members and pet owners to ensure smooth, efficient patient care and safety.
