Job Description
Position Summary Midwest Veterinary Service is looking for a Veterinary Assistant / Veterinary Technician who enjoys working with both livestock and companion animals and wants to be part of a team that works hard, supports one another, and takes pride in providing great care to our clients and their animals.
Whether you're just getting started or already have experience, we're looking for someone who is dependable, willing to learn, communicates well with clients and coworkers, and enjoys the variety that comes with mixed animal practice. A strong interest in beef cattle medicine is a plus. Preferred Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Veterinary Assistant certificate (NAVTA-approved) or equivalent education and experience preferred, but not required Experience working with livestock or companion animals is helpful Farm or ranch background is valued What We're Looking For Enjoys working with both people and animals Takes initiative and follows through Stays calm and adaptable during busy days Works well as part of a team Communicates respectfully with clients and coworkers Pays attention to details and takes pride in doing the job well Is eager to continue learning and building new skills Compensation Starting at $17.00 per hour, based on experience. Our Watertown clinic, built in 2019, features a modern haul-in cattle facility and fully equipped small animal clinic with hydraulic chute, ultrasound equipment, surgery suite, IDEXX laboratory, digital radiology, dental suite, and more. Our Team Across Watertown, Miller, and Aberdeen, our team includes five full-time veterinarians, six veterinary technicians, animal health sales professionals, and operations and marketing support staff.
