Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Technician Assistant to join our team. This position will work in our hospital along side our veterinary technicians and veterinary assistants. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a strong commitment to providing high-quality service to both pets and their owners. This role involves working closely with animals in a kennel environment, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being while maintaining cleanliness and organization within the facility. Duties Provide daily care for dogs and other animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising. Maintain cleanliness of kennels, play areas, and common spaces to ensure a hygienic environment. Cleaning, sweeping, mopping and daily laundry. Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff or management. Assist with animal handling during feeding, grooming, and exercise sessions. Support veterinary staff with basic tasks as needed, including animal restraint and care. Engage with pet owners in a friendly manner, providing updates on their pets' activities and well-being. Ensure compliance with safety protocols and guidelines for animal care. Requirements Previous experience in animal handling or kennel environments is highly desirable. Familiarity with dog training techniques is a plus. Veterinary technician or assistant experience is beneficial but not mandatory. Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required when handling larger breeds or equipment. Knowledge of pet grooming practices is advantageous. A genuine love for animals and commitment to their welfare is essential.
