We're Four Paws at Fulshear , a privately owned veterinary hospital with a close-knit, slightly quirky team that works hard, laughs a lot, and takes really good care of our patients. We're looking for a Kennel Assistant to join us—and at our hospital, this position is a little more than just cleaning kennels. Let's get one thing out of the way first: Yes, you get to work with animals. No, you will not spend your entire shift cuddling puppies. There will be poop. There will be pee. There will be laundry. So. Much. Laundry. But you'll also get to learn how an actual veterinary hospital works—from the kennels to the treatment area to the front desk. So what will you actually be doing? A little bit of everything! You'll help us: Walk, feed, and care for hospitalized and boarding patients Keep kennels clean, comfortable, and disinfected Clean and help maintain common areas throughout the hospital Do laundry... and then somehow find more laundry Wash bowls, bedding, carriers, and the occasional mystery substance Keep treatment areas stocked and organized Watch our patients and let the medical team know if something doesn't seem right Help safely handle animals when needed Answer phones and help our CSRs when things get busy Schedule appointments and learn what types of appointments go where Take basic information from clients and know when a question needs to go to a technician or doctor Help with basic front-desk duties and client communication Jump in when you see a teammate needs help instead of waiting for someone to ask We don't expect you to know all of this on Day 1. We'll teach you. What we do expect is that you want to learn. As you gain experience and prove yourself, there are opportunities to learn more and potentially grow into a Veterinary Assistant or CSR position . Who are we looking for? Experience is great, but we can teach skills. We can't teach work ethic.

Actually likes animals—even the loud, nervous, drooly and occasionally spicy ones Is comfortable talking to people too (unfortunately, every pet comes attached to a human) Isn't afraid to answer a ringing phone Can learn how to schedule appointments and gather information from clients Understands that triaging a question means getting the right information to the right person—not playing veterinarian Isn't afraid to get dirty Can stay busy without someone constantly handing them a to-do list Notices something needs to be done and... does it Can handle a fast-paced environment without completely melting down Is dependable and shows up when they're supposed to Is kind to animals and humans Can take direction and feedback without taking it personally Has a sense of humor—veterinary medicine pretty much requires one Wants to learn and grow A little about us We're privately owned and veterinarian-led , which is becoming a little harder to find these days.
