Job Overview Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Assistant and Technician, where your passion for animal care and technical expertise will make a meaningful difference in the lives of pets and their owners. Duties Assist veterinarians with animal examinations, treatments, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures while ensuring animal safety and comfort Handle animals with care using proper restraint techniques to facilitate procedures and reduce stress Perform animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, cleaning kennels, and maintaining sanitary conditions throughout the clinic Administer medications, IV insertions, and perform animal catheterizations under supervision or independently based on experience Maintain accurate record keeping of patient histories, treatment plans, medication administration, and procedural documentation Support front desk operations by communicating effectively with clients regarding pet care instructions and appointment scheduling Ensure adherence to safety protocols by properly using personal protective equipment (PPE) and following veterinary terminology standards Experience Previous kennel experience or animal handling background preferred; experience with dogs, cats, and equine animals is highly valued Veterinary clinic experience or internship participation demonstrating familiarity with medical procedures and client interactions Hands-on veterinary technician experience or critical care exposure that includes medication administration and surgical support Knowledge of animal behavior, physiology, anatomy, and welfare principles to ensure compassionate care Skills in record keeping, pet care routines, and client communication are essential for success in this role Ability to perform cleaning duties diligently to maintain a hygienic environment conducive to animal health This paid position is designed for motivated individuals eager to grow their expertise in veterinary medicine while making a positive impact on animals' lives. Pay:
$20.00 - $22.00 per hour Expected hours: 35.0 - 40.0 per week
