Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will support veterinarians and veterinary technicians in providing high-quality care to animals. You will be responsible for assisting with various tasks related to animal care, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for both pets and their owners. We are a primarily wellness clinic that offers in-house diagnostics. We do not perform any surgical procedures. Bilingual would be a plus. There is a an ample amount of receptionist responsibilities as well. Exceptional Phone etiquiette is preferred. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures by preparing instruments and equipment. Handle and restrain animals safely during examinations and treatments, administer vaccinations, blood draws, catheter placement. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including reception and treatment areas. Administer medications as directed by the veterinarian or veterinary technician. Provide basic grooming services, including nail trimming and ear cleaning. Educate pet owners on proper pet care, nutrition, and training techniques. Monitor the health and behavior of animals in the clinic or kennel setting. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient. Answering calls, returning voicemails, and scheduling appointments for clients. Providing information about pricing and answering questions for potential clients. Skills 2 or more years of clinical experience preferred. Strong knowledge of animal anatomy and veterinary terminology. Experience with animal handling, restraint techniques, and venipuncture and vaccine administration. Background in dog training or kennel management is beneficial. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with pet owners and team members. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Compassionate attitude towards animals and their well-being. Excellent reception skills and upbeat, friendly demeanor.
