Veterinary Assistant Woodforest Animal Hospital -
Montgomery, TX Compensation:
$14-$17/hour (based on experience)

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with animals, thrives in a fast-paced setting, and wants to grow within a structured veterinary team. Position Summary The Veterinary Assistant supports the Technician and Senior Technician team by assisting with patient restraint, exam room flow, diagnostics preparation, and hospital cleanliness. This is a support-level clinical role focused on efficiency and teamwork — not independent medical decision-making. Key Responsibilities Assist with patient restraint for exams, treatments, and procedures Prepare exam rooms and ensure efficient workflow Obtain weight and basic vitals (TPR) Assist with history collection and patient intake Prepare diagnostic samples (fecal, cytology, SNAP tests) Assist with radiographs and non-sterile procedures Support hospitalized patient monitoring and report concerns Clean and maintain treatment and exam areas Perform basic services such as nail trims and anal gland expressions What This Role Does NOT Include Independent appointments or treatment planning Interpreting diagnostics Anesthesia induction, monitoring, or recovery IV catheter placement Medication prescribing or refills What We're Looking For Experience in a veterinary or animal care setting preferred Strong work ethic and willingness to learn Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Team-oriented with a positive attitude Good communication and attention to detail About Us Woodforest Animal Hospital is building a high-performing, non-toxic team where accountability, teamwork, and professionalism matter.
