Job Description

The preferred candidate will be a Licensed Veterinary Technician (licensed in Texas) with large animal handling and/or treating experience. We will consider a motivated Certified Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Assistant with a high level of equine handling experience. We will prefer at least 2 years of large animal handling experience but will consider new graduates. Small animal handling experience will be helpful as well. While we will give preference to experienced veterinary technicians and assistants, we are willing to train the motivated candidate. References will be required. Good computer, communication, math and spelling skills are a must. Must be able to lift at least 40 lbs. and be comfortable around 1,500 lb. animals. Must have reliable transportation. Sense of humor is also needed. Our practice is a predominantly mobile equine practice with a moderate amount of small and a few food animal patients as well. There are haul-in patients and a few hospitalized patients as well. No overnight shifts needed. Work week is Monday through Friday. Will ask for availability for emergency calls after hours and on weekends. Benefits available. Our pay scale will be dependent on the level of experience the candidate has as well as the amount of on the job veterinary medical training the candidate requires.
Pay:
$15.00 - $25.00 per hour
