Licensed Veterinary Technician or Experienced Veterinary Assistant | Lynchburg, Virginia It's 2 a.m., and a cat who couldn't breathe an hour ago is finally resting easy on oxygen, her owner watching with relief through the window. Getting her there took someone who knew exactly what to do the moment she came through the door. At Animal Emergency & Critical Care of Lynchburg, we're Central Virginia's only after-hours emergency hospital, and we're hiring a Licensed Veterinary Technician or an experienced Veterinary Assistant ready to be that someone, steady, skilled, and ready for anything the night brings. About the Practice Animal Emergency & Critical Care of Lynchburg provides emergency and critical care to Central Virginia's pets when their regular vet is closed, including inpatient critical care, outpatient medicine and surgery, trauma and abdominal surgery, oxygen and ventilator therapy, and blood and plasma transfusions. What You'll Help Make Possible Critical patients who stabilize faster because someone experienced got the catheter, the oxygen, and the fluids going without hesitation Surgical and anesthetic cases that go smoothly because monitoring never slips Clients getting through the scariest night of their pet's life with someone calm guiding them through it Diagnoses that come faster because radiography, ultrasound, and lab work are handled with skill under pressure A hospital that can say yes to every emergency that walks through the door, day or night What We're Looking For Required 3 to 5 years of experience providing patient care in a veterinary setting Current Licensed Veterinary Technician credential, or equivalent hands-on experience as a Veterinary Assistant in an emergency or critical care setting Comfortable with catheter placement, blood draws, and sample collection Preferred Experience in emergency or critical care medicine Comfortable working nights, weekends, and holidays as part of a rotating schedule Schedule Part-time, rotating shifts 6 to 12-hour shifts Every weekend as part of the team schedule Holidays included in the team rotation Compensation Compensation for this role ranges from $16.00 to $30.00/hour, based on experience and role alignment.
