Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians in providing care to animals in a veterinary hospital setting
- Perform various medical procedures under the supervision of a licensed veterinarian
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian
- Collect and prepare laboratory samples for testing
- Take and develop X-rays of animals
- Monitor and record vital signs of animals during procedures and surgeries
- Provide post-operative care and monitor recovery of animals
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care, including nutrition, exercise, and preventive healthcare measures
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of animal physiology and veterinary terminology
- Proficient in performing veterinary technician duties, including animal restraint, administering medications, and assisting with surgeries
- Experience in handling and caring for various types of animals, including dogs, cats, and small mammals
- Familiarity with kennel operations and maintaining a clean and safe environment for animals
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and other members of the veterinary team.
