Job Description
Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to veterinarians and veterinary technicians in delivering high-quality care to animals. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal welfare and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while ensuring the comfort and safety of our patients. Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment is prepared and available. Provide basic care for animals, including feeding, bathing, and exercising. Monitor the health and behavior of animals in our care, reporting any concerns to the veterinary team. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including kennels, exam rooms, and surgical areas. Administer medications as directed by veterinarians and assist with animal catheterization when required. Utilize aseptic techniques during procedures to prevent infection. Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets' needs and treatment plans. Keep accurate records of patient information, treatments administered, and any observations made during care. Qualifications Previous experience in pet care or veterinary settings is preferred but not mandatory. Familiarity with veterinary terminology and dental terminology is highly desirable. Skills in dog handling and training are a plus. Understanding of veterinary critical care practices is beneficial. Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated. Strong communication skills to interact with pet owners compassionately and effectively. A commitment to maintaining high standards of animal care and hygiene.
