Job Description

Animal Dentistry Specialists of Seattle is a veterinary-dentistry-only practice that is located in Renton, WA. We're looking for a team-oriented, friendly and career-minded Veterinary Assistant to join our team. We are a privately-owned hospital that provides advanced dental care like root canals; advanced, tooth-saving, periodontal treatment; fracture repair; and oral tumor excision, as well as routine extractions and dental cleanings. We strive to provide the highest quality dental care to our patients, clients and referring veterinarians. Enjoy a four-day work week, with no weekends or on-call. You will help welcome owners and pets, take medical histories, assist the doctor with oral exams, provide client education on toothbrushing and appropriate dental products, prepare estimates and review them with clients, set up for dental procedures, and review discharge instructions with clients. You will also perform cone beam CT scans, take intraoral radiographs (training will be provided as needed), perform dental cleanings, assist the doctor during procedures, maintain instruments, prepare prescriptions of non-controlled drugs, prepare photos and radiographs to send to clients, and help team with clean up and pre- and post-op animal care. Veterinary Assistant applicants must have the following qualifications to be considered for the position: Veterinary Assistant certificate Veterinary Medication Clerk certificate preferred A minimum of three years of veterinary experience required, specialty experience preferred Ability to assist veterinarian with oral exams of small animal and exotic patients in a safe and compassionate manner. Some experience with taking dental radiographs and performing dental cleanings preferred, but happy to train the right person. High level of focus on exceptional patient care and communication with clients and referring veterinarians.
