In this energetic role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our animal patients, assisting with daily kennel operations, and ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare. Your proactive approach and compassionate attitude will help create a positive experience for pets and their owners alike. Duties General hours for this position are 5:00 PM-7:00 PM Provide attentive animal husbandry, including feeding, watering, cleaning kennels, and monitoring animal behavior to ensure comfort and safety Assist veterinary technicians and veterinarians with animal handling Maintain accurate record keeping of animal treatments, medications administered, and behavioral observations using veterinary terminology and documentation protocols Support laboratory procedures by preparing samples, managing laboratory equipment, and adhering to aseptic techniques Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) during all animal care activities to promote safety for staff and animals Clean and disinfect kennels, surgical areas, and equipment regularly to uphold infection control standards in accordance with veterinary critical care practices Communicate effectively with pet owners at the front desk regarding pet care instructions, appointment scheduling, and general inquiries while demonstrating excellent client communication skills Qualifications Prior kennel experience or veterinary clinic experience is highly preferred; candidates with veterinary assistant or technician backgrounds are encouraged to apply Experience with medication administration, laboratory procedures, aseptic techniques, and surgical support is advantageous Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting animals or equipment safely while maintaining a high level of attention to detail Excellent record keeping skills combined with the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately Commitment to animal welfare principles with a compassionate approach toward pets and their owners Join us in making a difference in the lives of animals every day!
