Job Description

New Martinsville Animal Hospital is a busy 1 doctor small animal general practice seeking a licensed veterinary technician and/or an experienced assistant to add to our team! The busier we get, the more we need to maximize our support staff so that our doctor can maximize the number of patients she can see. Candidates must be proficient at drawing blood, placing catheters, running and submitting IDEXX labs, taking xrays, monitoring and inducing anesthesia, prepping patients for surgery, performing dental cleanings, administering injections, keeping accurate and thorough medical records, communicating with and educating clients effectively and patiently, taking thorough histories, and so much more! We are a small group and everyone is required to be cross trained so previous reception work and knowledge is a plus! This is a fast paced job that requires attention to detail while multitasking and documenting everything you do. It is also a physically demanding job and candidate must be able to lift 50lbs. We are looking for someone with a positive attitude, great customer service skills, a strong team work ethic, and a love/passion for veterinary medicine! We strive to make a difference, be as thorough as possible and offer all treatment options, and help as many animals as we can every single day! Experience is preferred, but will consider new graduates of veterinary technician programs or those currently enrolled in such programs. Consideration will be given to veterinary assistants who have at least 1-2 years of experience working in a veterinary clinic. Part time or full time positions available with flexible scheduling.
