Veterinary Technician - Equine

•Equine Ambulatory Veterinary Technician•Chaparral Veterinary Medical Center Chaparral Veterinary Medical Center is seeking a reliable and hardworking Equine Ambulatory Veterinary Technician to join our team. This position works closely with our ambulatory veterinarian, assisting with on-farm calls and providing high-quality care to equine patients in a dynamic, field-based setting.

Schedule:

4-day work week Rotating surgical on-call shifts

Key Responsibilities:

Assist the veterinarian during ambulatory farm calls Safely handle and restrain horses during exams and procedures Prepare, maintain, and operate medical equipment in the field Set up for procedures and ensure efficiency during farm visits Stock and restock the ambulatory truck with necessary supplies and medications Drive the veterinary truck to and from appointments as needed Maintain cleanliness and organization of the vehicle and equipment Communicate effectively with clients and team members Maintain accurate medical records

Qualifications:

Horse handling experience is a must Previous equine experience preferred Valid driver's license required Comfortable driving a truck and working in a field setting Ability to lift and handle equipment and work outdoors in various conditions Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to work independently while supporting a team Positive attitude and strong work ethic
