We provide essential veterinary services for livestock including cattle, goats, sheep, pigs, and more. Our technicians play a vital role in delivering compassionate, efficient, and professional care. Job Summary We are seeking a Large Animal Veterinary Technician to assist veterinarians in the diagnosis, treatment, and care of livestock. The employee in this position will be riding with a veterinarian that specializes in the care of pigs, sheep, goats, and cattle. This is a field-based position involving travel to client locations. Ideal candidates are comfortable handling large animals and working outdoors in variable weather typical for Arizona. Hours generally range from 8AM to 5PM but may vary daily based upon scheduled appointments and their location around the valley. Key Responsibilities Travel to farms, ranches, or client properties to provide on-site veterinary support Safely handle and restrain large animals Administer medications and vaccinations Collect lab samples and assist with diagnostic procedures (e.g., radiographs) Maintain accurate patient records Support post-operative care and monitor recovery Communicate with clients and support billing/invoicing Occasionally assist with front office duties if needed Qualifications Experience handling and caring for livestock (goats, cattle, pigs, sheep, etc.), whether through previous large animal veterinary work, participation in 4-H, FFA, or personal ownership and care of livestock Strong knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and medical procedures Previous experience as a veterinary technician is a plus but not required Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and in outdoor conditions (including Arizona heat) Physically able to lift, restrain, and work around large animals. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (occasional reimbursed travel using a personal vehicle may be required)

Work Environment Mobile/Field-Based:

Most work is performed outdoors at farms or ranches.

Physical Demands:

Requires stamina, alertness around unpredictable animals This position works heavily with pig/swine patients. The technician will be expected to assist the veterinarian in restraining pigs in excess of 100 pounds.

Schedule:

Must be punctual for designated morning meet-up locations. Our doctors are currently located in either Mesa or Queen Creek. Technicians typically meet doctors at their home to begin the day. Compensation Base pay for this position ranges from $18-$25 an hour based on education and experience.

$18.00 - $25.00 per hour
