Job Description

VCA Animal Specialty Group in Los Angeles is looking for a highly skilled and knowledgeable critical thinker, putting patient care first to support our ECC patients. At VCA ASG we are proud to be a teaching hospital and the choice for referring veterinarians and pet owners in Los Angeles and throughout Southern California.
Mandatory requirements for this position:
Must have a minimum of 3 years experience in a veterinary emergency hospital. Must have at least 1 year working directly with emergency and critical patients. Be an advocate for the patients and provide top quality medicine for highly critical patients. Have outstanding time management and organizational skills to keep up with hourly treatments. Maintain reliability (pertaining to time and attendance) to ensure the patients have adequate and reliable care. Ability to triage and prioritize critical cases. Ability to see the big picture to ensure each patient is provided the best possible care. Excellent communication skills while always maintaining kindness, compassion, and respect. Technical skills and abilities required for this position: Placing and managing IVC and PICC lines. Experience with triple lumen catheters is a plus. Drawing venous and arterial blood samples and urine samples. Cystos are via U/S guided only. Administering critical and life-saving fluids & medications, including boluses, CRIs, and blood products. Cross matching, blood typing, and administering transfusions (pRBC, FFP, cryoprecipitate). Effectively and efficiently perform all aspects of CPR. Inducing (if RVT), monitoring, and recovering patients from anesthesia. Assisting with a vast array of emergency and critical treatments, diagnostics, and procedures. Manage various feeding tubes, JP drains, and chest tubes. Manage sedated and comatose patients on ventilators. Reasons to join

Compensation:
