Excellent customer service and superior quality care are essential. We are looking to add a veterinary technician to our team. Ideal candidates should have superior work ethic, be professional, extremely reliable with regards to attendance, and excited to work in a forward thinking technologically advanced environment. Must be confident and proficient in anesthesia.
Responsibilities include:
Animal restraint and comfort handling animals in all aspects of the hospital Proficient in venipuncture, giving injections, place IV catheters and collect urine samples via cystocentesis Ability to run in house diagnostics including labs, radiographs, BPs, in house cytology, etc. Knowledge of medical calculations for the purposes of calculated drug doses for in hospital injectables, anesthetics, CRIs, and prescriptions Ability to multitask and educate both staff and clients with exceptional communication skills Setup, monitor, and recover animals from anesthesia and dental procedures. We do have specialist that come in for surgeries at our facility. Performing dental radiographs, charting, cleaning and RVTs able to do single rooted extractions. Intake and discharge of sedation, surgical, and dental patients. Charting, creating discharges and client instructive handouts. Maintaining the hospital with regards to meeting OSHA, controlled substance logs, and general day-to-day upkeep of the facility which may include ordering/inventory/stocking. Must be immediately available for FBI fingerprinting to ensure ability to handle controlled substances in accordance with California law (VACSP) within three months of hire. We are open 5 days a week Monday through Friday, no weekend work anticipated. Full time workers complete four 10 hour shifts per week. Compensation will be contingent upon level of experience. Anticipated benefits include health care, dental, vision, paid holidays, paid vacation days, uniforms, and 401K with matching for full time candidates.
