Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) - Surgery Up to $48.00/hour (DOE) + $5.50/hour Shift Differential for any hours worked between 6pm-6am Up to $9,000 Sign-On Bonus Full-time opportunity in

As a Surgery Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT), you'll work alongside board-certified veterinary surgeons providing advanced anesthesia, surgical nursing, perioperative care, and post-operative monitoring for complex specialty cases. Our Surgery team manages a diverse caseload of complex soft tissue, orthopedic, neurologic, and minimally invasive procedures. You'll have the opportunity to strengthen your anesthesia and surgical nursing skills while working with advanced technology and experienced veterinary specialists. In Your Day-to-Day, You Will Prepare patients, surgical suites, equipment, and instruments for advanced surgical procedures. Induce, maintain, monitor, and recover patients undergoing general anesthesia. Assist board-certified surgeons during specialty surgical procedures while maintaining aseptic technique. Perform venipuncture, blood collection, IV and urinary catheter placement, and medication administration. Calculate and administer medications, fluids, and continuous rate infusions (CRIs) under veterinarian direction. Closely monitor patient vital parameters, anesthetic depth, pain, and recovery and communicate changes to the medical team. Provide comprehensive pre-operative, intraoperative, and post-operative nursing care. Perform basic laboratory testing and assist with diagnostic imaging as needed. Maintain accurate electronic medical records, treatment sheets, and anesthesia documentation. Provide compassionate client communication and post-operative education. Participate in on-call, holiday, or additional coverage as needed. Collaborate with Surgery, Emergency & Critical Care, and other specialty departments to provide exceptional patient care. What You Bring Current California Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license required. Strong veterinary anesthesia administration and anesthetic monitoring experience. Experience in veterinary surgery, anesthesia, Emergency, ICU, or specialty medicine preferred. Strong technical skills including venipuncture, IV catheter placement, medication calculations, CRIs, and advanced patient monitoring. Knowledge of surgical preparation, aseptic technique, instrumentation, and post-operative patient care. Excellent critical-thinking, mathematical, organizational, and multitasking skills. Strong communication and client service abilities. Ability to remain calm and effective in a fast-paced specialty surgical environment.
