Job Description

The Pet Advocate Registered Veterinary Technician
  • Location-Tracy, CA Job type-Full time $28
  • 35/hr depending on experience
Experience:
  • At least 2 years in small animal practice required
  • Must have current veterinary technician certification (RVT)
  • Must be skilled at performing dental procedures, all dental extractions and digital dental radiographs.
  • Must be proficient in anesthetic induction, surgical prep and monitoring.
The Pet Advocate is a spay/neuter/wellness/dental center that provides surgical and wellness services for healthy pets. We provide affordable spay, neuter, dental and wellness services for the general public, local animal rescues and shelters. We believe a successful practice is built upon teamwork and a healthy employee culture. We are looking for an enthusiastic & energetic individual to work in our fast paced and rewarding veterinary center. Hours
  • 7:45 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday.
No after hours, weekends, evening duty or on call.
Position expectations and description:
  • We are looking for an individual with a passion for providing pets with excellent dental care.
The position includes primarily dental procedure duties. Dental responsibilities include performing 2-3 dental procedures daily including all necessary extractions and full mouth digital radiographs. We have 4 new progeny digital dental x-ray systems, 4 recently purchased Midmark 1000 mobile dental unit and a backup Dentalaire mobile dental unit.
  • Surgical responsibilities (limited) include anesthetic induction, prep and monitoring for surgical procedures.
  • Vaccine/treatment administration and client communication.
  • Positive attitude, effective communication and ability to work in a team are a must. We will train the right individual that fits well with our team.
