This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Veterinary technician who already has a solid foundation in veterinary medicine but wants to gain more hands-on experience, build confidence, and continue advancing their surgical and dental skills. Credentialed Veterinary Technicians (CVT/RVT/LVT) are preferred, but not required. We're happy to consider an experienced non-credentialed technician who demonstrates strong technical skills, good clinical judgment, and a passion for surgical patient care. Do:

You'll play an active role in the care of surgical and dental patients from preparation through recovery, including: Preparing patients for surgical and dental procedures Placing IV catheters, induction, and endotracheal intubation Calculating and administering medications under veterinarian direction Monitoring anesthesia using ECG, blood pressure, SpO2, ETCO2, temperature, and other monitoring parameters Learning to recognize anesthetic trends and communicating patient changes or concerns to the veterinarian Preparing surgical suites, instruments, and sterile fields, while maintaining proper aseptic technique Assisting veterinarians during routine and advanced surgical procedures Providing attentive and accurate peri-anesthetic and post-anesthetic monitoring, pain assessment, and recovery care Performing dental radiographs, obtaining diagnostic-quality images, and dental charting. Maintaining surgical, anesthesia, and dental equipment Following established surgical, anesthesia, dental, and medication protocols Working closely with doctors and fellow technicians to provide high-quality patient care Who We're Looking For You don't need to know everything on day one. We're looking for someone who already has a strong veterinary foundation and is ready to continue building on it.

Our ideal candidate:

Has approximately 1-3+ years of veterinary technician/assistant experience Has previous hands-on exposure to surgery, anesthesia, and/or dentistry Is comfortable with core technical skills such as venipuncture and IV catheter placement Has experience with or an interest in developing dental radiography skills Is comfortable performing medication and fluid calculations Pays close attention to detail and takes patient safety seriously Communicates concerns and asks questions when something doesn't look right Is organized, dependable, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment Takes initiative while also knowing when to ask for help Is receptive to coaching and feedback Wants to continue learning and progressing as a veterinary technician While surgery and dentistry will be the primary focus of this position, you will also be an important part of our overall hospital team. This is not an exclusively surgical role, and applicants should be comfortable transitioning between surgical and general practice responsibilities.
