The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in animal care and handling, with experience in veterinary practices. This role involves assisting veterinarians in providing high-quality medical care to animals, ensuring their comfort and safety during examinations and treatments. Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and procedures. Perform animal restraint techniques to ensure the safety of both the animals and staff. Conduct laboratory tests and analyze results, including blood work and urinalysis. Utilize aseptic techniques during surgical procedures and while handling medical equipment. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient. Provide nursing care for hospitalized animals, including monitoring vital signs and administering medications. Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and preventive health measures. Handle various animal species with confidence, including dogs and cats Perform dental cleanings and assist with dental procedures using veterinary terminology. Experience Candidates should have prior experience in a veterinary setting or related field.
Preferred qualifications include:
Veterinary technician experience with knowledge of animal anatomy and physiology. Familiarity with veterinary critical care practices and emergency response protocols. Laboratory experience for conducting diagnostic tests is highly desirable. Knowledge of x-ray procedures and equipment operation is a plus.
