The Role As our Lead Veterinary Technician, you'll be an important connection between the clinical team and hospital leadership. You'll spend time working directly with patients while also helping your teammates succeed.

Your responsibilities will include:

Leading & Coaching Act as a resource for veterinary technicians and assistants Help train new team members and support ongoing skills development Reinforce hospital protocols, patient-care standards, and Fear Free techniques Provide real-time coaching and constructive feedback Help identify opportunities to improve team performance and patient care Work alongside hospital leadership to strengthen communication and accountability Advanced Technical Responsibilities Provide nursing care and assist veterinarians with examinations and procedures Set up, monitor, and recover patients undergoing anesthesia Support surgical and dental procedures Perform dental procedures and assist with dental radiography Collect, prepare, and process laboratory samples Obtain diagnostic radiographs Monitor hospitalized and recovering patients Maintain accurate and complete medical records Hospital Workflow Help coordinate technician workflow throughout the day Anticipate patient and team needs and help keep appointments and procedures moving efficiently Assist with maintaining equipment, supplies, and treatment areas Help ensure established protocols are consistently followed Identify workflow challenges and collaborate with leadership on solutions What We're Looking For The right person will bring a combination of technical experience, leadership potential, and a genuine desire to help others succeed. We'd love to meet you if you have: Several years of veterinary technician experience Strong anesthesia and surgical experience Confidence with dental procedures and dental radiography Experience with in-house laboratory equipment and diagnostic testing Experience obtaining quality diagnostic radiographs Excellent animal handling and patient-care skills Strong attention to detail and follow-through Excellent verbal and written communication The ability to remain calm and organized in a busy clinical environment An interest in mentoring, teaching, and developing other team members Previous formal leadership experience is helpful, but we are willing to consider an experienced technician who has demonstrated leadership qualities and is ready to take that next step.
