East Hartford, CT Job Details Part-time $22 - $25 an hour 7 hours ago Benefits Paid holidays Paid time off Employee discount Professional development assistance Flexible schedule Qualifications Companion animal handling Teamwork In-person customer service Diagnostic radiology IV insertion Veterinary technician experience Full Job Description The team at Connecticut Feline Medicine and Surgery is seeking a highly motivated, Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT, CVT, RVT) with at least one year's experience OR a Veterinary Technician (unlisenced) with two or more years of veterinary surgery experience. Ideal hours are Thursdays 8:30 - 6 but more hours are negotiable. We are a small team of professionals who value work / life balance, teamwork, communication, and a commitment to high standards of medicine. Our practice model is based on taking our time with each patient so that they are comfortable and we can be thorough. Must be highly organized, self-motivated, possess an eye for detail, have excellent communication skills, and be passionate about providing exceptional patient care. A love for and understanding of cats, including proper handling techniques, is a must. If you're looking for a slower-paced, thorough, compassion-focused practice, we'd love to meet you! Responsibilities include educating clients, critical and general patient care and case management, generating discharge instructions and patient records, phlebotomy, placement of intravenous catheters, running lab work (CBCs, urinalysis, etc.), administering and monitoring anesthesia, radiography, maintenance of equipment, etc. We offer competitive salary and benefits, which for part-time employees includes paid vacation/sick leave, paid major holidays if the occur during your regularly scheduled days, and an employee discount. Services include preventive medicine and nutrition, internal medicine, diagnostics, radiology, ultrasound, surgery, dentistry, hospitalization, chemotherapy, pain-control therapies (including laser therapy), behavioral consultation, and after-hours emergency phone consultation.
