Veterinary Technician

Job Description

Duties include but not limited to maintain cleanliness of the hospital at all times, disease free, disinfected, odor free. Attend to phone calls promptly and be faithful, sincere courteous to patient and diligent in answering with exemplary etiquette. Obtain, file receive any or all documents pertaining to a visit from various sources including previous veterinarian, ER, lab results, radiographs etc as deemed necessary. Scheduling patients, prepare shots and obtain blood/samples for simple diagnostic tests as needed, accurate entry of vaccines to the patient, obtain weights, vitals for patients, cash in cash out correctly, retail sales, prescription refill request, direct calls accordingly to the right individual, obtain messages clearly and not be curt if unable to find the what the client wants. Client services, Patient advocacy, follow OSHA compliance, medications to go home. Assist with procedures including dental prophylaxis, monitoring anesthesia, maintain anesthesia records, labs submission, Venipuncture, IV catheter placement, acquire radiographs safely with all necessary personnel/personal precautions. Prepare and Assist DVM in procedures, Stay with patients in Pre, Peri and Post-op until pet is extubated. Endotracheal intubation, of cats and dogs, assist with Inventory management, ordering supplies, stocking and check e-cart for functional equipment
