Job Summary At
SAWGRASS VETERINARY
CARDIOLOGY, we are committed to providing unparalleled veterinary care and exceptional service to our clients and their beloved pets. We are seeking a skilled, dedicated, and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. Our specialized cardiology department is dedicated to diagnosing and treating heart conditions in animals, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our patients and supporting our veterinarians in delivering exceptional medical services. We are steadfast in the fear free approach with our patients and rooted in AHAA standards. Duties Assist veterinarians in performing cardiology-related diagnostic tests, including echocardiograms, electrocardiograms (ECGs), Holter monitor placement/removal, x-rays, and blood pressure measurements. Administer medications and perform treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian. Monitor and record patient vital signs, including heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records for each patient. Collaborate with other veterinary staff to ensure support, compassionate, and comprehensive patient care. Utilize aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment during procedures. Restrain animals safely and effectively for examinations and treatments. Provide pet care education to clients regarding nutrition, training, and general health. Monitor anesthesia during surgical procedures and recover patients post-operatively. Participate in continuing education and training to stay current with advancements in veterinary cardiology. Requirements Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT), Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) or equivalent certification, are welcome, but not required. Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or hospital, preferably with a focus on cardiology or internal medicine. Proficiency in veterinary terminology and understanding of animal anatomy. Experience with animal restraint techniques and handling. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Anesthesia setup and monitoring skills. Strong communication skills to interact with clients and team members professionally. A genuine passion for animal welfare and commitment to providing excellent pet care. $22.50 - $23.50 per hour
