Fort Lauderdale, FL Job Details Part-time | Full-time $17 - $20 an hour 2 hours ago Qualifications Customer communication Attention to detail Data entry Organizational skills Patient observation Veterinary technician experience Full Job Description We are a nonprofit animal rescue with an in-house veterinary clinic dedicated to caring for the dogs and cats in our rescue program. We also provide select low-cost veterinary services to the public, helping make quality veterinary care accessible to our community. We are seeking an experienced, compassionate Veterinary Technician who is passionate about animal welfare and wants to make a meaningful impact. The ideal candidate is comfortable working directly alongside a veterinarian, while also having the confidence and skills to perform tasks independently when appropriate.
Responsibilities include:
Surgical preparation and patient monitoring during surgery Drawing blood and running laboratory tests Taking and processing radiographs (X-rays) Performing fecal testing and interpreting results Assisting the veterinarian during appointments and examinations Administering vaccinations Placing and monitoring IV catheters Calculating and preparing basic medications Maintaining accurate medical records using clinic software Providing excellent patient care and client communication
Qualifications:
Previous veterinary technician experience required Comfortable in a fast-paced clinic environment Strong animal handling skills Computer literate and able to accurately enter medical records Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Passion for animal rescue and welfare Why Join Us?
