Job Summary Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Licensed Veterinary Technician, where your expertise will directly enhance the health and well-being of our diverse animal patients. In this vital role, you will provide compassionate animal care, assist veterinarians with medical procedures, and ensure a smooth flow of clinic operations. Your skills in animal handling, laboratory diagnostics, and veterinary critical care will be instrumental in delivering exceptional veterinary services. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians with clinical procedures including animal restraint, catheterization, and administering medications. Perform laboratory tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and other diagnostic procedures to support accurate diagnoses. Conduct thorough animal examinations, including understanding animal physiology and anatomy to identify health issues. Manage dental procedures by understanding dental terminology and performing pet dental cleanings and assessments. Handle pet grooming, dog training, and pet care tasks to ensure animals are comfortable and well-maintained during their visit. Operate diagnostic imaging equipment such as X-ray machines while adhering to aseptic techniques and safety protocols. Maintain detailed medical records, update patient files with treatment plans, and document clinical findings accurately. Support animal husbandry practices across various species including dogs, cats, and equine animals when applicable. Assist in emergency situations by providing veterinary critical care support and monitoring vital signs. Ensure all animal handling complies with safety standards for both animals and staff using proper restraint techniques. Requirements Valid license as a Veterinary Technician or equivalent certification in veterinary technology. Proven experience working with animals in a veterinary or pet care setting; kennel experience is a plus. Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and aseptic techniques. Hands-on experience with laboratory diagnostics, X-ray operation, and dental procedures. Ability to handle dogs confidently, including dog training and dog handling skills. Familiarity with equine care and handling is desirable but not mandatory. Excellent animal handling skills along with proficiency in pet grooming and pet care routines. Experience with laboratory testing procedures and veterinary critical care practices. Capable of performing animal restraint effectively across different species to ensure safety during examinations or treatments. $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
