+ Referral Center of Hawaii (VERC) is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to support our 24/7 Emergency & Specialty hospital on a per diem basis. Credentialing is preferred but not required. Experienced Veterinary Assistants with strong hands-on clinical skills are encouraged to apply. What You Bring Two or more years of Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant experience in a progressive general practice, or at least one year in Emergency or Specialty medicine. Veterinary Technician credentialing preferred but not required. Strong hands-on skills including patient restraint, venipuncture, IV catheter placement, medication administration, and patient monitoring. Confidence with medication calculations, fluid rates, and CRIs. Anesthesia and sedation monitoring experience. Emergency, ICU, Critical Care, Specialty, or high-volume veterinary experience preferred. Ability to remain calm, organized, and adaptable in a fast-paced hospital environment. In Your Day-to-Day, You Will Triage and provide nursing care for emergency and hospitalized patients. Assist veterinarians with patient assessments, stabilization, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures. Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, sample collection, and in-house diagnostics. Administer medications, IV fluids, and CRIs as directed. Assist with diagnostic imaging and emergency procedures. Prepare, monitor, and recover patients undergoing sedation and anesthesia. Monitor hospitalized patients and communicate changes in patient condition. Collaborate with Emergency veterinarians, Veterinary Technicians, Veterinary Assistants, and Specialty teams.
