Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Veterinary Technician to join our dynamic veterinary team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional animal care, assist our veterinarian during examinations, surgeries, and procedures, and ensure a smooth workflow within the clinic. Your expertise will help improve the health and well-being of our patients. Has experience with technical skills such as placement of IV catheters, lab work, anesthesia monitoring, radiology, administer medications, nursing care of hospitalized patients, etc. Knowledge of Avimark veterinary software is a plus, but not mandatory. Our veterinary clinic consists of a small team that is family oriented and we take pride in knowing our client's/patient's names and developing relationships. Duties This position has a wide range of duties which include but are not limited to the below: Assist veterinarians with clinical examinations, surgical procedures, and diagnostic testing Perform animal restraint and handling to ensure safety for both animals and staff during treatments and procedures Conduct laboratory tests, prepare samples, and maintain accurate records of test results (for both inhouse and reference lab) Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by veterinarians Maintain aseptic techniques during surgeries and invasive procedures to prevent infections Handle pet care and animal husbandry tasks to promote overall health Operate diagnostic equipment such as X-ray machines and assist with radiography procedures Support dental procedures by understanding dental terminology and assisting with pet dental care Manage animal catheterization, intravenous access, and other critical care interventions Ensure proper animal physiology understanding for accurate assessments and treatments Maintain cleanliness of the clinic environment, including kennel areas, treatment rooms, and surgical suites Skills Extensive kennel experience with a strong understanding of animal husbandry practices Proficiency in veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and physiology Experience with laboratory testing techniques and diagnostic equipment such as X-ray machines Skilled in dog handling, animal restraint, and pet grooming techniques Knowledge of veterinary critical care protocols and emergency response procedures Familiarity with equine care practices and handling large animals when applicable Ability to perform animal catheterization and manage aseptic techniques effectively Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members and educate pet owners Demonstrated veterinary technician experience in a fast-paced clinical setting Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detailWhat We Offer:
Schedule is as follows: Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday 7:30a- 5:30p, Thursday 1:30p
- 5:30p, Friday 7:30a
